Category: Domain: Satellite, Vendor: EF Data
Description: EF Data enterprise MIB defining the top-level OID structure and common management objects for EF Data satellite equipment.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is EFDATA-MIB?
EFDATA-MIB is a Comtech EF Data Corporation (enterprise OID 6247, satellite modem vendor) proprietary MIB reporting traffic statistics and per-client usage on a satellite data gateway. Its objects cover bytes/packets transmitted since reset, average packet size/bytes-per-second, discarded-packet and NMS-frame counts, CPU load, memory usage, a stats-reset action, client count, and a per-client table (IP, seconds, KB, packets, average bytes/second, discarded packets, per-client stats-reset, encryption-enabled flag, node/IP/timestamp/start-time/total-packets/bytes-in-second). As a performance MIB it lets an administrator watch per-client throughput and discard rate on a Comtech EF Data satellite gateway. It is deployed on Comtech EF Data satellite modem/gateway equipment. Engineers can download the EFDATA-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in EFDATA-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Comtech EF Data satellite modem/gateway equipment
Monitoring Examples
An administrator checks cbClNumPacketsDiscarded per client to identify a specific satellite terminal experiencing packet loss on Comtech EF Data gateway equipment.
What Can Be Monitored
- per-client traffic throughput and discard rate
