Description: Enterprise energy services power MIB for monitoring electrical power consumption, supply status, and energy efficiency metrics.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is EES-POWER-MIB?

EES-POWER-MIB is Emerson Energy Systems' (EES) vendor MIB for monitoring DC power/energy systems such as telecom rectifier and battery plants, covering overall system status, electrical measurements, and power supply/battery-related alarms. It exposes identity data (manufacturer, model, controller firmware version), system-level electrical measurements (systemVoltage, systemCurrent, systemUsedCapacity), and component health objects (psStatusCommunication, psStatusBatteryMode) plus an alarm/trap log table. This is squarely a hardware/software status monitoring MIB: systemStatus and psStatusCommunication/psStatusBatteryMode directly report power supply and battery health, while systemVoltage/systemCurrent/systemUsedCapacity provide real-time electrical load and capacity data critical to detecting power system faults, and alarmLastTrapNo/alarmTrapTable log historical alarm events. It follows the general Emerson (EES) enterprise MIB structure (ees/global/ident branches) and standard SNMP alarm/trap conventions. It is typically deployed in telecom central offices or data centers where Emerson DC power plants/rectifier systems are monitored for continuous power availability. Engineers can download the EES-POWER-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in EES-POWER-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Emerson Energy Systems (EES) DC power/rectifier systems

Monitoring Examples

An operator would poll systemVoltage, systemCurrent, and systemUsedCapacity to track the DC power plant's real-time load and detect capacity exhaustion before an outage. psStatusCommunication and psStatusBatteryMode reveal whether a power supply module has lost communication or switched to battery backup mode, both critical fault indicators. alarmLastTrapNo together with alarmTrapTable lets an admin review the history of recent alarm events (e.g., low voltage, battery mode transitions) for root-cause analysis after an incident.

What Can Be Monitored

  • system voltage
  • system current
  • used capacity
  • power supply communication status
  • battery mode status
  • alarm/trap history
