Description: Manages fast forwarding table (FFT) and hardware-accelerated switching entries on Dell devices.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is Dell-rlFft?

Dell-rlFft is a Dell proprietary MIB (built on RADLAN/Marvell embedded switch software) configuring FFT (Fast Filtering/Forwarding Table, an IP-source-tracking feature) on Dell switches. Its objects cover a MIB-version identifier, maximum FFT entry count, dynamic/subnet/source-address support flags, an unknown-address message-usage flag, aging-time support and value, and red/yellow utilization-boundary percentages for the table. As a configuration/performance MIB it lets an administrator watch FFT table utilization against its red/yellow boundaries to catch the table approaching capacity. It is deployed on Dell switches (RADLAN/Marvell-based) with the FFT feature. Engineers can download the Dell-rlFft file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in Dell-rlFft. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Dell managed switches (RADLAN/Marvell-based)

Monitoring Examples

An administrator monitors current FFT table usage against rlIpFftYellowBoundary and rlIpFftRedBoundary to get advance warning before the table fills and new source addresses can no longer be tracked.

What Can Be Monitored

  • FFT (Fast Filtering Table) utilization vs. red/yellow boundaries
