Description: Manages T1 digital transmission interface configuration, alarms, and performance monitoring.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is DT1-MIB?

DT1-MIB is a vendor MIB (referencing usr/nas branches, suggesting a US Robotics/3Com-family remote access product) that manages T1 digital transmission interfaces, covering hardware identification, span configuration, alarms, and performance monitoring for T1 circuits. It exposes an identity table with hardware serial number and hardware/software revision per T1 port, plus a configuration table controlling timing source priority across dual spans (A/B) and internal clocking. This is directly a hardware/software status MIB: dt1IdHardwareSerNum and dt1IdHardwareRev let an admin inventory and verify installed T1 cards, dt1IdSoftwareRev tracks the firmware version running on each interface, and the timing-source priority objects reveal clocking configuration that, if misaligned, causes T1 alarm conditions (e.g., slips, loss of sync). It is a self-contained vendor MIB for T1 interfaces and commonly complements standard DS1/T1 MIB objects used elsewhere in the same device for alarm and performance statistics. It is deployed on remote access servers/NAS devices and channel banks that terminate T1 lines for WAN or dial connectivity. Engineers can download the DT1-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in DT1-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • T1/DS1 interface cards on remote access servers (NAS) and channel banks

Monitoring Examples

An admin would poll dt1IdTable/dt1IdEntry by dt1IdIndex to confirm the hardware serial number, hardware revision, and software revision of each installed T1 span match expected inventory. Checking dt1CfgSpanATmgSrcPrio and dt1CfgSpanBTmgSrcPrio against dt1CfgInternTmgSrcPrio reveals whether clock timing priority is correctly set to avoid a T1 span free-running and causing bit errors. A mismatch between reported dt1IdSoftwareRev across units would flag a card running outdated firmware needing an upgrade.

What Can Be Monitored

  • T1 hardware serial number and revision
  • T1 interface software/firmware revision
  • span timing source priority (A/B/internal)
  • T1 span configuration status
