Description: DPS Inc. TMON/XM MIB for remote telemetry alarm state, severity, and site monitoring on telecom infrastructure equipment

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is DPS-MIB-V37?

This is a vendor-specific MIB from DPS Inc. for their TMON/XM telemetry monitoring product line, used to monitor remote telecom infrastructure sites (such as cell sites, central offices, or equipment shelters) for alarm conditions. It exposes device identity data (manufacturer, model, software version) alongside an alarm table describing site location, alarm description, current state, and severity. It is fundamentally a hardware/environmental fault-monitoring MIB: it supports monitoring software version for identification and tracks discrete alarm entries with severity and state, which is how telecom operators detect conditions like door-open, power failure, temperature excursion, or equipment fault at unmanned remote sites. As a vendor-specific alarm/telemetry MIB it doesn't appear to formally depend on an IETF standard MIB, though it follows common alarm-table design patterns. It is typically deployed on DPS TMON/XM remote telemetry units installed at telecom equipment sites, making DPS-MIB-V37 SNMP monitoring a core tool for centralized alarm monitoring.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in DPS-MIB-V37. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • DPS TMON/XM remote telemetry alarm unit

Monitoring Examples

An administrator polling tmonAlarmTable/tmonAlarmEntry would check tmonAState and tmonASeverity for each tmonASite and tmonADesc entry to see which remote site alarms are currently active (e.g., a door alarm or power alarm), using tmonAChgDate and tmonAChgTime to determine when the condition changed. Cross-checking tmonIdentManufacturer, tmonIdentModel, and tmonIdentSoftwareVersion confirms which hardware/firmware version is reporting the alarm, useful when correlating known firmware bugs to false alarms.

What Can Be Monitored

  • site alarm state
  • alarm severity
  • alarm description and site name
  • alarm change date/time
  • device software version
