What Is DLINKSW-TC-MIB?
DLINKSW-TC-MIB is a D-Link enterprise support module that defines textual conventions — shared data types, enumerations, and formatting rules — used consistently across D-Link's proprietary switch MIB suite. It does not itself expose any operational data; instead it standardizes how other D-Link MIBs represent things like status codes, port identifiers, or state enumerations. Because it carries no runtime objects, it is not directly used to monitor hardware or software status, but it underlies every D-Link MIB that does report device health, interface state, environmental readings, or configuration, so its type definitions indirectly shape how that monitoring data is structured. It depends on the base SNMPv2-SMI and SNMPv2-TC conventions and is a prerequisite import for other D-Link enterprise MIB modules, and any tool that walks the DLINKSW-TC-MIB OID branch will find only type definitions rather than pollable instances. It is deployed alongside D-Link managed switch product lines wherever their vendor-specific MIBs are loaded into an SNMP toolchain.
