Category: SNMP Framework
Description: Declares SNMP agent capability statements for the Codima network intelligence built-in modules.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is CODIMA-BUILTIN-CAP?
CODIMA-BUILTIN-CAP is an AGENT-CAPABILITIES module for Codima's Express network-intelligence platform, declaring which built-in features and object groups a given agent implementation supports, within the network-management-conformance area. It is a conformance-only module and, as such, defines no managed data objects of its own; instead it profiles the object groups and variations of other Codima MIB modules that the agent implements. Because AGENT-CAPABILITIES modules are purely descriptive metadata for compliance checking, this MIB provides no direct role in monitoring hardware or software runtime status by itself. Its dependency is intrinsic: it explicitly references and profiles object groups defined in other Codima MIB modules that do expose runtime data. Typical deployment context is network management systems determining feature support before polling the actual Codima Express appliance's operational MIBs. Engineers can download the CODIMA-BUILTIN-CAP file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CODIMA-BUILTIN-CAP. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Codima Express network-intelligence appliances
Monitoring Examples
This module is a conformance/capabilities statement and contains no managed objects, tables, or notifications of its own — sample_objects is empty for exactly this reason. It exists to declare which object groups from other Codima MIBs a specific agent build supports, so no runtime monitoring scenario can be honestly constructed from it in isolation.
