What Is CISCO-IETF-ISIS-CAPABILITY?
CISCO-IETF-ISIS-CAPABILITY is a pure AGENT-CAPABILITIES module declaring which parts of the companion CISCO-IETF-ISIS-MIB (IS-IS routing protocol instrumentation) a given Cisco IOS/IOS-XR release implements. It has no operational data of its own - it is conformance metadata mapping Cisco software releases to supported IS-IS MIB object groups, used by NMS tools for capability negotiation rather than by operators for direct monitoring. Because it is conformance-only, it does not expose adjacency state, LSP database counters, or interface metrics itself; those live in CISCO-IETF-ISIS-MIB, whose supported subset this module documents. It depends entirely on CISCO-IETF-ISIS-MIB, itself based on the IETF ISIS-MIB, for actual routing-protocol managed objects. It is deployed alongside Cisco routers running IS-IS as an interior gateway routing protocol in service-provider and enterprise core networks. Network engineers evaluating or troubleshooting this functionality can download the CISCO-IETF-ISIS-CAPABILITY file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
