What is npGsmStrength?

This read-only INTEGER (0-255) reports GSM signal strength, where 0-31 maps to roughly 0-100%, 99 means unknown or not applicable, and 255 means the value is currently being updated. An admin uses it to judge whether poor cellular location is degrading the device's SMS or GSM connectivity.
