What Is DELIBERANT-MIB?

DELIBERANT-MIB is a vendor MIB from Deliberant, a manufacturer of wireless point-to-point and point-to-multipoint backhaul radios, used to manage their outdoor wireless networking equipment. It organizes management objects under a private enterprise tree covering product identification (dlbProducts), administrative settings (dlbAdmin), core management objects (dlbMgmt), and experimental extensions (dlbExperimental). It is used for monitoring the hardware and software status of the radio unit, including link/connection status, radio signal parameters, configuration state, and firmware/software version, which are critical to verifying a wireless backhaul link is healthy. It is largely a self-contained enterprise MIB but conventionally builds on standard MIB-II system and interface groups for basic device identity and uptime. It is typically deployed on outdoor wireless bridges and backhaul radios used in WISP and point-to-point microwave/wireless link deployments. WISP technicians standing up SNMP monitoring for a new radio link typically start with a DELIBERANT-MIB download so their NMS can decode the vendor's link-status and configuration objects correctly.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in DELIBERANT-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

What Can Be Monitored

  • radio link status
  • signal strength/quality
  • device/product identification
  • radio configuration parameters
  • firmware/software version

Supported Devices

  • Deliberant wireless backhaul radio
  • Deliberant point-to-multipoint access point

Monitoring Examples

A network operations team would poll objects under dlbMgmt to retrieve current radio link quality, signal strength, and connection status for a Deliberant point-to-point radio pair, alerting if the link drops or signal degrades below a threshold. Objects under dlbAdmin would expose the current radio configuration (frequency, channel, transmit power) so a technician can confirm the unit has not silently reverted settings. The dlbProducts branch identifies the exact hardware model, letting a monitoring system match firmware capabilities to the specific unit.
