Description: Dahua enterprise MIB for IP cameras and NVRs, exposing system info, CPU usage, video stream encoding parameters, storage status, alarm/event configuration, and network settings.

IPNetwork Monitor uses several OIDs from this MIB in network discovery and polling the applicable devices. Start monitoring DAHUA-SNMP-MIB with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor.

What Is DAHUA-SNMP-MIB?

DAHUA-SNMP-MIB is Dahua's enterprise MIB for its line of IP cameras and NVRs (network video recorders), exposing system information, CPU usage, video stream encoding parameters, storage status, alarm/event configuration, and network settings. Based on its documented additions, it covers recording configuration and scheduling, per-channel main/extra stream recording detail, physical storage volume totals and free space, and recording/event/SNMP-status notification objects. For hardware/software status monitoring, physicalVolumeTotal, physicalVolumeFree, and physicalVolumeThreshold together allow an operator to track storage disk capacity and free space on the NVR and be warned before recordings fail due to a full disk, while recordEvent/recordMainStreamEvent/recordExtraStreamEvent and snmpStatusEvent/snmpStatus surface recording faults and general SNMP agent/system health as trap-style notifications. It is a self-contained vendor enterprise MIB, though it would typically be deployed alongside standard IETF MIBs (system, host resources) for baseline device health such as CPU and uptime. It is typically deployed in video surveillance deployments where Dahua cameras and NVRs are centrally monitored by a network management or VMS platform. Engineers can download the DAHUA-SNMP-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in DAHUA-SNMP-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Dahua IP camera
  • Dahua network video recorder (NVR)

Monitoring Examples

An operator would poll physicalVolumeFree against physicalVolumeTotal on an NVR to track available recording storage, and would configure physicalVolumeThreshold so a trap fires before the disk fills and recording stops. recordMainStreamInfoTable and recordExtraStreamInfoTable would be checked per channel to confirm the main and sub (extra) stream encoding/recording settings are correctly applied for each camera. recordEvent and snmpStatusEvent would be monitored as alarm indicators, surfacing recording failures or SNMP agent problems that need investigation.

What Can Be Monitored

  • total and free storage volume
  • storage threshold alarm
  • per-channel main/extra stream recording configuration
  • recording schedule/plan
  • recording fault events
  • SNMP agent status events
