Category: Vendor: HP/HPE

Description: Provides node-level management objects for Compaq/HP ProLiant server identity and basic status.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is CPQNODE-MIB?

CPQNODE-MIB is a foundational Compaq/HP vendor MIB providing node-level management objects for a ProLiant server's basic identity and status, part of the Compaq/HP Insight Management Agent suite. It exposes core identifying information about the managed system such as its model, serial number, asset tag, and overall system health/status indicator. Its monitoring role is to give a top-level hardware/software status summary for the server, typically an overall health rollup that reflects whether any subsystem (temperature, power, fans, disks) covered by sibling CPQ MIBs has raised a fault, alongside basic identity data useful for asset tracking. It is designed to work alongside the other CPQ*-series MIBs (health, storage, thermal, power) as the root identity module in the Compaq Insight Manager MIB family. It is deployed on Compaq/HP ProLiant servers running the Insight Management Agent for hardware asset and health monitoring. Engineers can download the CPQNODE-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CPQNODE-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Compaq/HP ProLiant server

Monitoring Examples

An administrator would poll the node's overall status object to get a quick summary indicator of server health, then drill into the more detailed CPQHLTH/CPQSTDEQ-style MIBs if the summary shows a degraded or failed condition. Identity objects such as model name and serial number would typically be pulled once for asset inventory rather than repeatedly polled. No sample objects were provided for this MIB, so exact object names cannot be cited; this reflects the general identity/status-rollup pattern typical of the CPQNODE root module.
