What Is CISCO-WAN-MODULE-CAPABILITY?
CISCO-WAN-MODULE-CAPABILITY is an AGENT-CAPABILITIES module declaring which objects of CISCO-WAN-MODULE-MIB are supported by specific Cisco MGX WAN service module types and releases, including the ATM Switch Service Module (AXSM) and Enhanced AXSM (AXSM-E). As a conformance statement it defines no pollable status objects of its own, and has no direct role in runtime hardware or software monitoring. Its function is to let management systems verify, ahead of time, which module-management capabilities a particular AXSM/AXSM-E release actually implements from the base CISCO-WAN-MODULE-MIB. It is entirely dependent on that referenced base MIB for meaning. It would be used by NMS tooling during onboarding of Cisco MGX AXSM/AXSM-E WAN service modules. Engineers can download the CISCO-WAN-MODULE-CAPABILITY file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

This module defines only AGENT-CAPABILITIES statements with no sample objects, so no monitoring scenario applies — it honestly serves purely as a capability/version-support declaration for CISCO-WAN-MODULE-MIB. An NMS would consult it to determine whether a given AXSM-E release supports the full set of module-management objects before polling the module.
