Category: SNMP Framework, Vendor: Cisco Devices

Description: Defines agent capability statements for Cisco WAN cellular interface extended management.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is CISCO-WAN-CELL-EXT-CAPABILITY?

CISCO-WAN-CELL-EXT-CAPABILITY is an AGENT-CAPABILITIES conformance module declaring which objects of the CISCO-WAN-CELL-EXT-MIB a given Cisco IOS agent supports for extended WAN cellular interface management (e.g. 3G/4G/LTE WAN uplinks on Cisco routers). It carries no runtime data itself; it exists purely to state implementation conformance for the base cellular-extension MIB's objects. As a capabilities module it has no direct hardware/software health-monitoring role -- it is consumed by management tooling to determine which extended cellular interface objects (signal, carrier, or connection-status attributes defined in CISCO-WAN-CELL-EXT-MIB) are actually available on a given device/software combination. It is entirely dependent on, and only meaningful alongside, CISCO-WAN-CELL-EXT-MIB. It would typically be referenced during NMS onboarding for Cisco routers equipped with cellular WAN interface modules. Network engineers evaluating or troubleshooting this functionality can download the CISCO-WAN-CELL-EXT-CAPABILITY file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CISCO-WAN-CELL-EXT-CAPABILITY. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Cisco routers with cellular (3G/4G/LTE) WAN interface modules

Monitoring Examples

There are no monitorable runtime objects in this module; it is strictly a conformance/capabilities statement. Management tooling would use it to confirm, ahead of deployment, which extended cellular WAN interface objects from CISCO-WAN-CELL-EXT-MIB (such as signal strength or carrier status) are supported on a specific Cisco router's software version. No monitoring scenario applies.
