Description: Declares agent capability statements for Cisco VISM connection management MIB on MGX VISM module releases.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is CISCO-VISM-CONN-CAPABILITY?
CISCO-VISM-CONN-CAPABILITY is a Cisco AGENT-CAPABILITIES module that declares which parts of the CISCO-VISM-CONN-MIB (covering Voice Interworking Service Module connection management) a given Cisco agent implementation supports, on Cisco MGX VISM platform releases. As an AGENT-CAPABILITIES module it contains no runtime data objects of its own — no counters, tables, or traps — only conformance statements describing supported groups and variations of the referenced VISM connection MIB. It therefore has no direct role in monitoring hardware or software status; its purpose is purely to document implementation conformance for network management systems that need to know which VISM-CONN-MIB features a specific agent/software release supports. It is entirely dependent on, and meaningless without, the CISCO-VISM-CONN-MIB it describes. It is used during NMS integration and compatibility checking for Cisco MGX chassis running VISM voice interworking modules. Engineers can download the CISCO-VISM-CONN-CAPABILITY file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CISCO-VISM-CONN-CAPABILITY. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Monitoring Examples
This module is an AGENT-CAPABILITIES conformance statement, not a source of runtime monitoring data — it contains no pollable objects or tables, so there is no monitoring scenario to describe. Its only function is to tell a management system which objects in CISCO-VISM-CONN-MIB are actually implemented by a given Cisco VISM agent release.
