Category: Cisco Devices, Device Management, IP and Core Protocols
Description: Manages DHCP server and relay configuration within Cisco Unified Computing System (UCS) service profiles.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is CISCO-UNIFIED-COMPUTING-DHCP-MIB?
Another Cisco UCS Managed Information Model package MIB, this module represents DHCP-related managed objects within UCS service profiles, exposing data about DHCP server/relay configuration and acquired lease information for UCS-managed endpoints. It surfaces configuration objects as well as runtime lease data such as acquired IP addresses, MAC addresses, timestamps, and lease expiration. Its monitoring value is primarily software/configuration status, as administrators check whether a UCS blade or service profile has successfully acquired a DHCP lease and when it expires to diagnose provisioning or network boot problems. It depends on the umbrella CISCO-UNIFIED-COMPUTING-MIB and the broader UCS Managed Object model for its DN-based addressing scheme. It is deployed exclusively within Cisco UCS server environments, typically for service profile network/PXE boot configuration. Engineers can download the CISCO-UNIFIED-COMPUTING-DHCP-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CISCO-UNIFIED-COMPUTING-DHCP-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Cisco UCS blade servers
- Cisco UCS rack servers
- Cisco UCS service profiles
Monitoring Examples
An operator would query cucsDhcpAcquiredTable / cucsDhcpAcquiredEntry to see cucsDhcpAcquiredIp, cucsDhcpAcquiredMac, and cucsDhcpAcquiredSysId for a given system, confirming that a blade successfully obtained an address. Checking cucsDhcpAcquiredAcqts (acquired timestamp) versus cucsDhcpAcquiredEnds (lease end) helps detect an expiring or already-expired lease that could explain a loss of management connectivity. cucsDhcpInstTable would show broader DHCP instance-level configuration applied to the profile.
What Can Be Monitored
- acquired DHCP IP address
- acquired MAC address
- lease acquisition and expiration timestamps
- DHCP instance configuration
- system ID association

RFC description
Cisco Unified Computing DHCP MIB manages DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) services on Cisco UCS (Unified Computing System) infrastructure.
Start monitoring Cisco UCS blade/rack servers (service profiles) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
