Category: Cisco Devices, SNMP Framework, VPN and Security, Web and Application Servers
Description: Declares agent capabilities for SSL proxy and offload functionality on Cisco security and load-balancing platforms.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is CISCO-SSL-PROXY-CAPABILITY?
This is an AGENT-CAPABILITIES conformance module from Cisco that documents which objects and features of the CISCO-SSL-PROXY-MIB are actually implemented by a given Cisco security or load-balancing platform's SNMP agent. It does not define any runtime data objects itself; rather it maps SNMP manager expectations to what the device software actually supports for SSL proxy/offload functions. As a capabilities statement it has no sensors, counters or status objects of its own, so it plays no direct role in monitoring hardware or software health. It depends entirely on the CISCO-SSL-PROXY-MIB, whose objects it qualifies. Such capability modules are used internally by NMS tooling and MIB compilers to validate SNMP support matrices during device onboarding rather than for live monitoring. Engineers can download the CISCO-SSL-PROXY-CAPABILITY file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CISCO-SSL-PROXY-CAPABILITY. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Cisco SSL proxy / load-balancing appliances
- Cisco security platforms
Monitoring Examples
As an AGENT-CAPABILITIES module with no data objects (sample_objects is empty), it has no polling scenario of its own -- it simply enumerates which groups of CISCO-SSL-PROXY-MIB objects (e.g. SSL proxy status and offload statistics) are supported on a given platform/software release combination. Network management systems use it at compile/registration time to determine feature support, not to retrieve live data.
