Category: Cisco Devices, SNA and Legacy Protocols, SNMP Framework

Description: Declares agent capability for the Cisco ITP accounting and traffic statistics MIB.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is CISCO-ITP-ACT-CAPABILITY?

CISCO-ITP-ACT-CAPABILITY is a Cisco AGENT-CAPABILITIES conformance module that declares which objects and variations of the CISCO-ITP-ACT-MIB (Cisco Internet Transfer Point accounting/traffic statistics MIB) a particular agent implementation supports. As an AGENT-CAPABILITIES module it does not itself define any runtime data objects, tables, or notifications; it exists purely to document implementation conformance for network management tools performing MIB compliance checks. Consequently it has no direct role in monitoring hardware or software status, temperature, CPU, memory, or any operational counters. It is entirely dependent on, and meaningless without, its companion CISCO-ITP-ACT-MIB, which is the actual data-bearing module for Cisco ITP (SS7-over-IP signaling gateway) traffic statistics. It would be referenced by NMS tooling validating agent support on Cisco ITP signaling gateway platforms rather than being polled for live data. Engineers can download the CISCO-ITP-ACT-CAPABILITY file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CISCO-ITP-ACT-CAPABILITY. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Cisco ITP (Internet Transfer Point) signaling gateway

Monitoring Examples

This module is a conformance/AGENT-CAPABILITIES declaration with no data-bearing objects of its own, so there is no realistic monitoring scenario to describe; any actual polling would target objects defined in the companion CISCO-ITP-ACT-MIB instead.
