Description: Declares agent capabilities for Cisco service policy management on supported platforms.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is CISCO-SP-CAPABILITY?

CISCO-SP-CAPABILITY is an AGENT-CAPABILITIES module declaring which features of CISCO-SP-MIB (Cisco service policy management) are supported on a given platform. It belongs to Cisco's QoS/service-policy management feature area. It contains only capability declarations — supported object groups and compliance clauses from CISCO-SP-MIB — with no runtime data objects. As a pure conformance module it exposes no policy-enforcement statistics, faults, or hardware-status data itself; its function is limited to describing feature support for the referenced service-policy MIB. It is entirely dependent on CISCO-SP-MIB, the module it describes, and it is used by network management systems during capability negotiation with Cisco routers/switches applying service policies. Engineers can download the CISCO-SP-CAPABILITY file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CISCO-SP-CAPABILITY. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Cisco routers and switches applying service policies

Monitoring Examples

CISCO-SP-CAPABILITY has no sample runtime objects (sample_objects is empty); it only contains AGENT-CAPABILITIES statements referencing CISCO-SP-MIB's supported groups per platform. There is no realistic monitoring scenario to describe for this module itself, since it exists solely for one-time capability discovery by an NMS before it begins polling CISCO-SP-MIB objects.
