Category: Cisco Devices, Quality of Service, SNMP Framework, Wireless and WLAN

Description: Declares SNMP agent capabilities for QoS policy management on Cisco LWAPP wireless controllers.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is CISCO-LWAPP-QOS-CAPABILITY?

CISCO-LWAPP-QOS-CAPABILITY is a Cisco AGENT-CAPABILITIES module declaring which QoS-related objects and groups from CISCO-LWAPP-QOS-MIB are supported by a given Cisco Wireless LAN Controller (WLC) running LWAPP (Lightweight Access Point Protocol, precursor to CAPWAP). Being a capabilities module, it defines no runtime data objects itself, only version-to-feature support mappings for QoS policy management on lightweight-AP wireless networks. Consequently it exposes no hardware/software status data directly, though the CISCO-LWAPP-QOS-MIB it describes carries QoS policy configuration and statistics for wireless traffic prioritization. It is explicitly dependent on, and only meaningful in reference to, CISCO-LWAPP-QOS-MIB. It is used by network management systems to determine QoS SNMP feature support across Cisco WLC software releases. Network engineers evaluating or troubleshooting this functionality can download the CISCO-LWAPP-QOS-CAPABILITY file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CISCO-LWAPP-QOS-CAPABILITY. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Cisco Wireless LAN Controller (LWAPP/lightweight AP architecture)

Monitoring Examples

This is an AGENT-CAPABILITIES conformance module with no runtime data objects, so there is no monitoring scenario to describe; it only records which QoS objects in CISCO-LWAPP-QOS-MIB a given controller software version supports.
