Description: Declares agent capability for Cisco IP SLA Ethernet (Y.1731) probe management MIB.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is CISCO-IPSLA-ETHERNET-CAPABILITY?
CISCO-IPSLA-ETHERNET-CAPABILITY is a Cisco AGENT-CAPABILITIES module that declares which parts of CISCO-IPSLA-ETHERNET-MIB (Ethernet/Y.1731 IP SLA probe management) a particular device or software release actually implements. It does not itself expose runtime data -- the referenced CISCO-IPSLA-ETHERNET-MIB is what carries real Ethernet SLA metrics such as frame loss, delay, and jitter. The only category of information here is a feature/support-matrix used for capability negotiation, so it carries no hardware or software health telemetry like CPU, memory, or environmental readings. It depends entirely on CISCO-IPSLA-ETHERNET-MIB, whose object groups and compliance statements it references. It is typically consulted by NMS/EMS tooling during MIB capability discovery rather than polled directly by monitoring systems. Engineers can download the CISCO-IPSLA-ETHERNET-CAPABILITY file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CISCO-IPSLA-ETHERNET-CAPABILITY. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Cisco routers/switches supporting IP SLA Ethernet (Y.1731) probes
Monitoring Examples
This is a conformance/AGENT-CAPABILITIES module with no runtime data objects (sample_objects is empty), so there is no realistic device-polling scenario to describe; it only enumerates which CISCO-IPSLA-ETHERNET-MIB object groups a given agent implementation supports.
