Description: Manages IGMP profile-based multicast group filtering on Cisco Layer 2 and Layer 3 interfaces.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is CISCO-IGMP-FILTER-MIB?

CISCO-IGMP-FILTER-MIB is a Cisco Systems, Inc. proprietary MIB configuring per-port IGMP-join filtering, restricting which multicast groups a port may join. Its objects cover a global filter-enable flag and max-profile count, a profile table (index, start/end address type/address, permit/deny action), a per-interface table binding a profile to a port, and an edit workflow (spin lock, edit profile index/address range/action/operation, apply-status) for atomic profile changes. As a configuration/security MIB it lets an administrator confirm which multicast groups a given port is permitted to join, useful for restricting IPTV channel access. It is deployed on Cisco Systems switches running IGMP filtering. Engineers can download the CISCO-IGMP-FILTER-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CISCO-IGMP-FILTER-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Cisco Systems switches (IGMP filtering)

Monitoring Examples

An administrator checks cIgmpFilterInterfaceProfileIndex and the associated profile's permit/deny range to confirm a port is restricted to authorized IPTV multicast groups on a Cisco switch.

What Can Be Monitored

  • per-port IGMP join-filter profile configuration
