Description: Declares SNMP agent capability statements for the CISCO-GSLB-DNS-MIB global server load balancing DNS implementation on Cisco platforms.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is CISCO-GSLB-DNS-CAPABILITY?
CISCO-GSLB-DNS-CAPABILITY is a Cisco AGENT-CAPABILITIES conformance module that declares which parts of CISCO-GSLB-DNS-MIB — the global server load balancing (GSLB) DNS implementation MIB — a given Cisco agent actually implements. It belongs to the Cisco content-switching/GSLB technology area rather than defining any monitorable data itself. As a pure capabilities statement, it does not expose interface, environmental, performance, or fault data, and it is not intended to be polled for hardware or software status. Its entire purpose is to reference and constrain support for the companion CISCO-GSLB-DNS-MIB data module, making it inherently dependent on that MIB. It is used only as a CISCO-GSLB-DNS-CAPABILITY reference by SNMP management tools during MIB compliance/compatibility checks on Cisco GSLB-capable platforms, not for runtime monitoring.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CISCO-GSLB-DNS-CAPABILITY. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Monitoring Examples
This module is a conformance/AGENT-CAPABILITIES statement with no runtime data objects; it lists which groups and objects of CISCO-GSLB-DNS-MIB a device supports rather than exposing any pollable counters or status values. A management application would consult it only to determine feature support before attempting to poll the real CISCO-GSLB-DNS-MIB objects.
