Category: Cisco Devices, SNMP Framework, Web and Application Servers

Description: Defines SNMP agent capability statements for the Cisco Content Services MIB on supported appliance platforms.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is CISCO-CONTENT-SERVICES-CAPABILITY?

This module is an AGENT-CAPABILITIES conformance statement for the CISCO-CONTENT-SERVICES-MIB, associated with Cisco's content/application-services switching and load-balancing appliance platforms. It contains no runtime data objects itself, only declarations of which object groups of the companion MIB a given appliance's software supports. It carries no hardware or software health telemetry of its own — no CPU, memory, temperature, or session counters — it is purely implementation conformance metadata. Its dependency is explicit: it documents feature support for CISCO-CONTENT-SERVICES-MIB, the module containing the actual runtime objects. It is consumed by NMS/MIB tooling to verify the feature support declared in the CISCO-CONTENT-SERVICES-CAPABILITY MIB before attempting to poll the real content-services data, rather than being polled for monitoring itself.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CISCO-CONTENT-SERVICES-CAPABILITY. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Cisco Content Services Switch (CSS) / content-services appliance platforms

Monitoring Examples

As an AGENT-CAPABILITIES module with no sample objects, it has no runtime monitoring use; it simply lists which CISCO-CONTENT-SERVICES-MIB object groups are implemented on a given content-services appliance.
