Category: Cisco Devices, Quality of Service, SNMP Framework

Description: Defines SNMP agent capability statements for the Cisco Class-Based QoS MIB (CBWFQ/CBQOS) policy framework.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is CISCO-CLASS-BASED-QOS-MIB-CAPABILITY?

CISCO-CLASS-BASED-QOS-MIB-CAPABILITY is a Cisco AGENT-CAPABILITIES module declaring which parts of the CISCO-CLASS-BASED-QOS-MIB (used for CBWFQ/class-based QoS policy monitoring) a given agent implementation supports. It defines no runtime data objects, counters, or traps of its own -- it is purely a conformance/compliance declaration for MIB compilers and NMS platforms. It has no role in directly reporting device hardware or software operational status such as uptime or CPU load. It is inherently and explicitly dependent on CISCO-CLASS-BASED-QOS-MIB, whose object groups and variations it documents support for. It is used during MIB compilation and agent capability negotiation rather than in day-to-day polling. Engineers can download the CISCO-CLASS-BASED-QOS-MIB-CAPABILITY file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CISCO-CLASS-BASED-QOS-MIB-CAPABILITY. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Cisco router/switch implementing class-based QoS

Monitoring Examples

This module contains no runtime objects, tables, or notifications, so there is no monitoring scenario to describe; it exists solely to declare which CISCO-CLASS-BASED-QOS-MIB groups a particular Cisco device/software version implements.
