Description: Monitors the File System Interface component of Cisco CDS-TV, tracking content storage, retrieval, and filesystem operations.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is CISCO-CDSTV-FSI-MIB?
CISCO-CDSTV-FSI-MIB manages the File Service Interface (FSI) component of Cisco's CDS-TV Content Delivery System for TV, the subsystem that handles file-based content transfer (via FTP) into and out of the platform. It exposes configuration objects for the FSI server's IP address and listening port, FTP client and outbound server ports, FTP login time-to-live, logging level, the content root filesystem path, and an asynchronous callback URL. Its monitoring relevance is mainly software/service configuration and operational status—an admin verifies cdstvFsiServerPort and cdstvFsiIpAddress are correctly bound and checks cdstvFsiLogLevel to ensure adequate diagnostic logging is enabled if content transfers are failing. It is part of Cisco's CDS-TV MIB family, working alongside CISCO-CDSTV-INGESTMGR-MIB (which drives content acquisition jobs using this file interface) and CISCO-CDSTV-CS-STATS-MIB (which reports the resulting cache/storage statistics). It is deployed in cable/telco video head-end infrastructure where Cisco CDS-TV nodes ingest and serve television/on-demand content files. Engineers can download the CISCO-CDSTV-FSI-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CISCO-CDSTV-FSI-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Cisco CDS-TV File Service Interface (FSI) nodes
Monitoring Examples
An admin checks cdstvFsiIpAddress/cdstvFsiServerPort and cdstvFsiFtpClientPort to confirm the File Service Interface is listening and configured correctly, and reviews cdstvFsiContentRootPath to verify content is being written to the expected filesystem location. If content ingest jobs are failing, raising cdstvFsiLogLevel provides more detailed diagnostics, and a mismatched cdstvFsiFtpOutServerPort could explain why outbound FTP transfers to another CDS-TV node are not completing.
What Can Be Monitored
- FSI server IP address/port
- FTP client and outbound server ports
- FTP login TTL
- log level
- content root filesystem path
