Description: Declares SNMP agent capabilities for the Cisco CASA forwarding agent MIB.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is CISCO-CASA-FA-CAPABILITY?
CISCO-CASA-FA-CAPABILITY is an AGENT-CAPABILITIES conformance module documenting which features of the CASA-FA-MIB (Cisco Any Service Any Port Forwarding Agent MIB) a specific Cisco device implementation supports. Like other capability modules, it defines no runtime data objects of its own, only references to object groups and compliance statements. It plays no direct role in monitoring hardware or software status; its purpose is limited to MIB-compatibility bookkeeping so management platforms know which forwarding-agent features are present on a given device. It is entirely dependent on the CASA-FA-MIB it describes support for. It would be consulted by SNMP tooling during MIB loading/compatibility checks rather than during operational monitoring. Engineers can download the CISCO-CASA-FA-CAPABILITY file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CISCO-CASA-FA-CAPABILITY. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- vendor-neutral SNMP tooling context; applies to Cisco content/load-balancing platforms implementing CASA-FA-MIB
Monitoring Examples
This module defines no data objects (sample_objects is empty); there is no monitoring scenario to describe since it only lists supported groups/compliances from CASA-FA-MIB for capability negotiation purposes.
