When the TTL policy above is fixed, this is the actual TTL value imposed on every packet's MPLS label for this dynamically-signaled tunnel. An admin sets this generously since, unlike a static tunnel with a known fixed hop count, a dynamic tunnel's actual number of hops can change after each re-signal, so the fixed TTL needs enough margin to survive the longest path the signaling protocol might ever choose. For example, a fixed TTL of 200 provides comfortable headroom even if the tunnel later re-signals over a path with several more hops than its original route.
