Category: Cisco Devices, IP and Core Protocols
Description: Manages DHCP server pool configuration, address leases, and lease statistics on Cisco IE1000 industrial Ethernet switches.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is CIE1000-DHCP-SERVER-MIB?
CIE1000-DHCP-SERVER-MIB is a Cisco private MIB (a Cisco-specific variant of the DHCP Server MIB) for managing the DHCP server feature on Cisco IE1000 industrial Ethernet switches. It exposes DHCP server configuration data including global server mode, per-VLAN DHCP server mode/interface binding, and excluded IP address ranges used to reserve addresses from the dynamic pool. Its monitoring value is largely configuration/software-status oriented, letting an operator confirm the DHCP server is enabled on the correct VLANs and that address exclusions are correctly applied, rather than exposing hardware sensors. It is explicitly modeled as a private version of the standard DhcpServer MIB, indicating a dependency on that IETF/community MIB's object structure. It is typically deployed on Cisco IE1000 switches used in industrial/OT network environments that need local DHCP services for connected devices. Engineers can download the CIE1000-DHCP-SERVER-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CIE1000-DHCP-SERVER-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Cisco Industrial Ethernet 1000 switches
Monitoring Examples
An administrator would poll cie1000DhcpServerConfigGlobalsMode to confirm the DHCP server is administratively enabled, then check cie1000DhcpServerConfigVlanTable to see which cie1000DhcpServerConfigVlanIfIndex entries have DHCP serving turned on. The cie1000DhcpServerConfigExcludedTable can be inspected to verify that cie1000DhcpServerConfigExcludedLowIpAddress/HighIpAddress ranges correctly exclude reserved addresses (e.g., statically assigned devices) from the lease pool. A VLAN missing from the excluded table when it should have reserved addresses could explain unexpected address conflicts.
What Can Be Monitored
- DHCP server global enable/disable state
- per-VLAN DHCP server mode
- excluded IP address ranges
- excluded range action/status
