Description: Manages Calista Networks DPA (Data Path Accelerator) ATM switching hardware and performance statistics.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is CALISTA-DPA-MIB?

CALISTA-DPA-MIB is a vendor MIB from Calista Networks for its Data Path Accelerator (DPA) product, a media/voice gateway device used to bridge legacy PBX telephony (analog/digital) with VoIP call-manager infrastructure. It exposes device identity and firmware data (serial number, image and loader versions, integration/PBX type), plus call- and message-waiting-indicator (MWI) traffic counters for calls received, calls made, and MWI commands queued/completed/errored between the PBX and call manager. This MIB is squarely a hardware/software status and performance-counter MIB: it lets an operator confirm the DPA's firmware/loader version, the PBX integration mode configured, and whether call and MWI signaling between the PBX and call manager is flowing without errors. It is a fairly self-contained vendor product MIB with no strong evident dependency on other standard telephony MIBs beyond generic system identification conventions. It is deployed in enterprise or carrier voice environments where legacy PBX systems are integrated with IP call-manager platforms via a Calista DPA appliance. Engineers can download the CALISTA-DPA-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CALISTA-DPA-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Calista Networks DPA (Data Path Accelerator) gateway
  • PBX-to-VoIP integration appliance

Monitoring Examples

An administrator reads serialNumber, imageVersion, and loaderVersion to confirm which firmware is running on a given DPA unit and pbxType/integrationMode to verify it's correctly paired to the site's PBX. Ongoing health is tracked via receivedCalls and outgoingCallsMade counters alongside mwiCommandsReceived, pbxQueuedMWICommands, pbxCompletedMWICommands, and pbxMWIErrors; a rising pbxMWIErrors count while pbxQueuedMWICommands backs up indicates the PBX side is failing to acknowledge message-waiting-indicator updates. Comparing callManagerQueuedMWICommands against pbxCompletedMWICommands helps isolate whether a stuck MWI signaling problem originates on the call-manager side or the PBX side of the gateway.

What Can Be Monitored

  • firmware/loader version
  • PBX integration mode/type
  • received and outgoing call counts
  • MWI commands queued/completed
  • MWI command errors
