All MIBs › CAIOPSMIB
Category: Device Management, Vendor: CA Technologies
Description: Covers IT operations management functions in CA Unicenter, including workload automation, job scheduling, and operations monitoring.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is CAIOPSMIB?
This is a CA (Computer Associates) Unicenter MIB for IT Operations Management, covering workload automation, job scheduling, and console/operations monitoring functions historically provided by CA's OPS/MVS and Unicenter operations products. It exposes objects related to operations console messaging and job/workload status, such as the last logged operations message, as part of a broader tree of job-scheduling and automation state. Its monitoring emphasis is on software/service status rather than hardware — specifically job and console message status, letting an operator detect abnormal job completions, scheduling failures, or important console alerts surfaced through the operations management layer. It is a CA/Unicenter-specific MIB with no dependency on standard IETF MIBs, reflecting CA's own operations-management data model. It is deployed on mainframe or distributed systems running CA Unicenter/CA-OPS operations automation software in large enterprise data centers. Network engineers evaluating or troubleshooting this functionality can download the CAIOPSMIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CAIOPSMIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- CA Unicenter/CA-OPS operations management host (mainframe or distributed server)
Monitoring Examples
An operator can poll caiOpsLstMsg to see the most recent message issued by the operations console, using it as a lightweight indicator of job or system events that CA-OPS has surfaced; a sudden absence of expected message updates under the caiOps subtree could indicate the operations automation process itself has stalled or lost console visibility.
What Can Be Monitored
- last operations console message
- job scheduling/automation status
