Category: Vendor: Baytech
Description: Manages Baytech remote power management unit model 403 series, providing per-outlet switching and current monitoring.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is Baytech-MIB-403-1?
Baytech-MIB-403-1 is Baytech's proprietary MIB for its model 403 series remote power management unit, a rack-mount power distribution/control device used for out-of-band outlet switching. It exposes device identity information (firmware revision, serial number, unit name/description), network management configuration (BOOTP/DHCP enablement, SSH and Telnet enablement, activity timeout, direct-connect option, SNMP read/read-write community strings), and per-outlet power control and current-draw data as suggested by its remote power management function. It strongly supports hardware and software status monitoring — firmware revision and serial number for asset/version tracking, network service enablement for security posture checking, and outlet-level power state and current draw for verifying connected equipment power health. No dependency on another standard MIB is evident; it appears to be a standalone private enterprise MIB. It is deployed on Baytech remote power controller/PDU units in data centers and remote equipment racks for out-of-band power cycling and monitoring. Engineers can download the Baytech-MIB-403-1 file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in Baytech-MIB-403-1. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Baytech remote power controller/PDU (model 403 series)
Monitoring Examples
An administrator polling this device would check sBTAIdentFirmwareRev and sBTAIdentSerialNumber for asset inventory and firmware version tracking, and inspect sBTANetworkConfigTelnetEnable alongside sBTANetworkConfigSSHEnable to confirm insecure Telnet management has been disabled in favor of SSH. A discrepancy here — Telnet still enabled, or default sBTANetworkConfigSNMPReadWriteCommunity strings left in place — would flag a security compliance issue on the unit's management interface, separate from its core outlet power-switching function.
What Can Be Monitored
- firmware revision
- serial number/unit identity
- SSH/Telnet management access enablement
- SNMP community string configuration
- activity/session timeout setting
- per-outlet power state and current draw
