What Is BSUSUSTATUS-MIB?

BSUSUSTATUS-MIB is an Aperto Networks enterprise MIB (aniBsuSuGroup 3) for the BreezeACCESS-class fixed-wireless Base Station Unit (BSU), reporting per-subscriber-unit (SU) link status; note that the MIB's own CONTACT-INFO identifies Aperto Networks as the originating organization rather than Alvarion, though Aperto's wireless broadband product line was later absorbed into Alvarion. It defines an upstream link table (aniBsuSuUSLinkStatusTable: polarization, modulation qpsk/qam16, FEC low/high, SU Tx power attenuation, upstream Rx/Tx power) and a parallel downstream table (aniBsuSuDSLinkStatusTable: polarization, modulation, FEC, downstream Rx power split by polarization, BSU Tx power), plus a general link table (aniBsuSuLinkStatusTable) with propagation delay, distance, link type, and path loss exponent — all indexed by aniBsuWirelessPort and the SU's MAC address. This gives an operator RF-link quality visibility per subscriber radio rather than just interface-level counters, which is central to diagnosing marginal wireless links before they fail outright. It is deployed on Aperto/BreezeACCESS base stations serving fixed-wireless subscriber units, and network teams can get the BSUSUSTATUS-MIB download to add these objects to their monitoring.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in BSUSUSTATUS-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Aperto Networks BreezeACCESS-class Base Station Units (BSU)

Monitoring Examples

An operator polls aniBsuSuStatusUSRxPower and aniBsuSuStatusSuTxPowerAttn for a given subscriber unit's upstream link; a Tx power attenuation value near its maximum combined with a weak upstream Rx power at the BSU signals a marginal RF link that may soon drop or degrade throughput for that subscriber.

What Can Be Monitored

  • upstream/downstream modulation and FEC mode per SU
  • upstream/downstream Tx/Rx power levels
  • SU Tx power attenuation
  • propagation delay and distance
  • path loss exponent per link
