Description: Manages route-map policy configuration and match/set clause statistics on Brocade routing devices.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is BROCADE-ROUTEMAP-MIB?

BROCADE-ROUTEMAP-MIB is a Brocade-specific MIB (used on NetIron/CES/CER platforms) for configuring and inspecting route-map policies used to control BGP and other routing-protocol route selection and next-hop behavior. Its brcdRouteMapTable, indexed by name and sequence, defines each route-map entry's permit/deny action and row status; brcdRouteMapMatchTable and brcdRouteMapSetTable (indexed by the same name/sequence plus a match/set sequence and type) define the match criteria — AS-path, BGP community, ACL names/numbers, prefix lists, interfaces, metric, routing protocol, route type, tags — and the corresponding set actions — next-hop IPv4/IPv6 address, local preference, metric, community, weight, and more — each also exposing a human-readable brcdRouteMapMatchCliString/brcdRouteMapSetCliString equivalent of the CLI command; brcdRouteMapBindTable then binds a named route map to a specific interface and IP address family, and the read-only brcdRMapRuleDisplayTable shows the currently resolved input interfaces, ACL match filter, and selected output VLAN/port/next-hop address per rule. Because route-map misconfiguration silently redirects or drops matched traffic, monitoring this MIB is useful for confirming a route map is actually bound to the intended interface (brcdRouteMapBindTable), that its match/set clauses resolve as expected, and for checking brcdRMapRuleDisplayOutputIPAddress/OutputPort to verify traffic is actually being policy-routed to the intended next hop. It depends on FOUNDRY-SN-IP-ACL-MIB and FOUNDRY-SN-SWITCH-GROUP-MIB for shared Action/AclNumber types and the brcdRouteMap enterprise anchor, and is deployed on Brocade/Extreme (formerly Foundry) NetIron routing platforms; network engineers can check the BROCADE-ROUTEMAP-MIB MIB Browser view when auditing route-map policy configuration.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in BROCADE-ROUTEMAP-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Brocade (Foundry) NetIron / CES/CER routing platforms

Monitoring Examples

An operator checks brcdRouteMapBindTable to confirm a route map is bound to the intended interface and IP type, then reviews brcdRMapRuleDisplayOutputIPAddress; if the resolved next hop doesn't match the configured setNextHopIpv4Addr value, matched traffic is being policy-routed to the wrong destination.

What Can Be Monitored

  • route-map entry action (permit/deny) and row status
  • match clause type/value (ACL, prefix-list, AS-path, etc.)
  • set clause type/value (next-hop, local-preference, metric, etc.)
  • route-map-to-interface binding
  • resolved output VLAN/port/next-hop address per rule
