Description: Tracks OSPF error events and protocol fault conditions on bintec elmeg BIANCA/BRICK routers.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is BIANCA-BRICK-OSPF-ERR-MIB?
BIANCA-BRICK-OSPF-ERR-MIB is a proprietary bintec elmeg (BIANCA/BRICK) MIB dedicated to tracking OSPF protocol error events and fault conditions on the router. It is expected to expose counters and/or a log table of OSPF error types, such as malformed packets, authentication failures, or adjacency errors, along with associated notifications. This is explicitly a fault-monitoring module: it lets an admin detect OSPF protocol-level faults, such as failed adjacencies or packet errors, that could indicate misconfiguration, a degrading link, or an attack, directly supporting fault monitoring of the routing software. It is a vendor extension layered conceptually on top of the standard OSPF-MIB, sharing OSPF area/interface identification concepts. It is used on bintec elmeg BIANCA/BRICK routers running OSPF to give operators early warning of routing-protocol instability. Engineers can download the BIANCA-BRICK-OSPF-ERR-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in BIANCA-BRICK-OSPF-ERR-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- bintec elmeg BIANCA/BRICK router
Monitoring Examples
No sample objects were extracted for this module in the available data. Conceptually, an admin would monitor OSPF error event counters or a trap log for a given OSPF interface/neighbor, where a rising count of adjacency or authentication errors reveals a misconfigured OSPF neighbor or a degrading link causing routing instability.
What Can Be Monitored
- OSPF error event counts
- OSPF adjacency failure notifications
- OSPF authentication error counts
- OSPF error log entries
