What Is BIANCA-BRICK-IPX-MIB?

BIANCA-BRICK-IPX-MIB is a vendor-specific MIB from bintec elmeg (originally BinTec/Bianca) that manages IPX protocol routing, connection tracking, and packet filtering on BIANCA/BRICK routers. Its ipxClientTable tracks connected IPX clients per interface circuit with a reconnect counter (ipxClientReconns), while paired ipxAllowTable/ipxDenyTable structures implement IPX packet filters matched on packet type and source/destination network, node, and socket, each with an independent enable-mode flag per match criterion. A parallel sapAllowTable/sapDenyTable filters IPX SAP (Service Advertising Protocol) broadcasts by direction, SAP type, network/node/socket, and service name, and scalar objects such as ipxAdmSpxSpoofing, ipxAdmIpxSpoofing, and ipxAdmNETBIOSRepl control higher-level IPX/SPX spoofing and NetBIOS-over-IPX replication behavior. This makes it a configuration-and-policy MIB for legacy IPX/Novell NetWare routing rather than a traffic-statistics MIB, useful for auditing which IPX/SAP filter rules are active on a router. It is deployed on bintec elmeg BIANCA/BRICK routers in networks still carrying legacy Novell IPX traffic, and administrators consult the BIANCA-BRICK-IPX-MIB MIB to verify IPX filter and SAP policy configuration.
