Category: Routing Protocols, Vendor: Ascend/Lucent
Description: Manages OSPF intra-area routing configuration and link state on Ascend access equipment.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is ASCEND-MIBOSPFINR-MIB?
ASCEND-MIBOSPFINR-MIB is an Ascend Communications (later Lucent) proprietary MIB configuring OSPF area-range summarization profiles on Ascend MAX/Pipeline routers. Each profile entry names an OSPF area ID, the network address and mask defining the range, and whether that range is advertised into other areas. As a configuration MIB it lets an administrator confirm which network ranges are being summarized (or deliberately suppressed) at an OSPF area boundary. It is deployed on Ascend/Lucent routers participating in a multi-area OSPF topology. Engineers can download the ASCEND-MIBOSPFINR-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ASCEND-MIBOSPFINR-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Ascend Communications (Lucent) MAX/Pipeline routers
Monitoring Examples
An administrator checks ospfAreaRangeProfile-Advertize for a given area range to confirm whether a subnet is intentionally being suppressed from advertisement into other OSPF areas, ruling out a route-summarization misconfiguration.
What Can Be Monitored
- OSPF area-range network/mask and advertisement flag
