Description: Alpha Technologies enterprise power system MIB providing high-level status and identity for complete power plant systems.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is AlphaPowerSystem-MIB?

AlphaPowerSystem-MIB is Alpha Technologies' enterprise MIB providing high-level status and identity information for its Cordex series of DC power system controllers, used to manage complete telecom power plants. It exposes system-level identity data and an overall operational status summarizing the health of the power system as a whole. Its main monitoring value is hardware status: it lets an operator confirm the power plant controller is healthy, identify the specific controller model/system in use, and detect a system-wide alarm or fault condition. As a self-contained enterprise MIB it has no notable dependency on other standard MIBs, standing apart from the more granular UPS-MIB style modules. It is typically deployed in telecom central offices or utility sites where Cordex controllers manage racks of rectifiers and batteries powering critical equipment. Engineers can download the AlphaPowerSystem-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in AlphaPowerSystem-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Alpha Technologies Cordex DC power system controller
  • telecom power plant / rectifier cabinet

Monitoring Examples

An operator would poll the system identity and overall status objects for a Cordex controller to confirm the power plant is reporting normal operation, and would investigate immediately if the status object transitions to a fault or alarm state. Because the MIB summarizes the entire power system rather than individual rectifiers, a status change here is typically used as a trigger to drill into the controller's local interface or a more detailed vendor MIB for root-cause diagnosis.

What Can Be Monitored

  • power system identity/model
  • overall system operational status
  • power plant alarm condition
  • controller configuration summary
