What Is Adapter-1030-MIB?

Adapter-1030-MIB is a vendor-specific MIB from LSI Logic for the 1030-family SCSI/RAID host adapter, and despite its generic-sounding name it models RAID controller, logical drive, and physical device state rather than a network interface. Its adapterTable reports per-adapter identity (adapterID, firmwareVersion, biosVersion, productName, driverVersion) and device counts, a logicaldriveTable exposes ldState/ldStatus, sizeInMB, raidLevel, stripeSize, and resyncProgress for each configured logical drive, and a deviceTable covers each physical drive's state, sizeMB, rebuildProgress, errorCount, and transferSpeed/Width. A sparepoolTable tracks hot-spare drive assignments (spID, drvIDs) available to rebuild failed members, and raidTraps provides notification objects for RAID state-change events. This makes it a storage-controller health and RAID-array-state MIB rather than an Ethernet-style adapter MIB, useful for confirming array redundancy is intact and rebuilds are progressing. It is deployed on servers using LSI 1030 RAID controllers, and administrators load the Adapter-1030-MIB MIB into their MIB browser to monitor array and physical-drive health.

An operator polls ldState and resyncProgress across logicaldriveTable after a drive replacement, and checks deviceTable's rebuildProgress and errorCount for the replaced physical drive; a logical drive stuck in a degraded ldState with resyncProgress not advancing would indicate the array rebuild has stalled, leaving the array without redundancy.
