Description: Defines alarm notification structures and severity conventions for AudioCodes equipment, used as the common alarm reporting framework across AudioCodes MIB modules.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is AcAlarm?

AcAlarm is an AudioCodes proprietary MIB (enterprise OID 5003, extending AC-FAULT-TC) implementing fault management across AudioCodes products. Its active-alarm table records sequence number, system uptime, trap OID, date/time, alarm name, textual description, source, severity, event type, probable cause, and up to three additional-info fields for each currently-active alarm, while a parallel alarm-history table retains the same detail for alarms that have since cleared. As a status/notification MIB it lets an administrator retrieve the complete current alarm list via SNMP GET rather than relying solely on traps, and review recent alarm history. It is deployed on AudioCodes media gateway/session-border-controller products. Engineers can download the AcAlarm file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in AcAlarm. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • AudioCodes media gateway/session-border-controller products

Monitoring Examples

An administrator walks acActiveAlarmTable after a monitoring gap to catch up on any alarms an AudioCodes device raised while its trap destination was unreachable.
