Last Updated: 2013-08-01
Category: Device Management, Vendor: Allied Telesis
Description: Defines the Allied Telesis product OID registry, enumerating hardware platform identifiers for all Allied Telesis device families.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is AT-PRODUCT-MIB?
AT-PRODUCT-MIB is an Allied Telesis enterprise MIB that serves purely as a product-identity registry, defining the OBJECT IDENTIFIER tree of hardware platform identifiers for Allied Telesis's device families (organized under subtrees like bridgeRouter, routerSwitch, and swhub referenced from AT-SMI-MIB). It contains no runtime data objects, tables, traps, or performance counters, only identity OIDs used elsewhere as sysObjectID values. Consequently it has no direct monitoring role for hardware/software status; instead, other MIBs and NMS tools use these product OIDs to identify which specific Allied Telesis model is being managed, which then determines which additional MIBs/objects are expected to be present. Its whole purpose depends on and is referenced by AT-SMI-MIB and other Allied Telesis private MIBs. It is deployed universally as a supporting identity-lookup module wherever Allied Telesis network equipment is managed via SNMP. Engineers can download the AT-PRODUCT-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in AT-PRODUCT-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Allied Telesis network devices (switches, routers, hubs) generally
Monitoring Examples
This is a pure identity/registry module with no data objects to poll; an NMS instead reads a device's sysObjectID (from the standard SNMPv2-MIB) and matches it against the OIDs defined here to determine the exact Allied Telesis product model, rather than obtaining any live monitoring value from this MIB itself.
