What Is ASCEND-MIBT1NET-MIB?
ASCEND-MIBT1NET-MIB is a proprietary Ascend module managing T1 WAN interface configuration, framing, and performance statistics on Ascend access equipment. It exposes configuration for T1 line parameters (framing format, line coding) alongside performance counters such as errored seconds and alarm conditions. Its monitoring role is squarely hardware/line status: detecting T1 line faults (loss of signal, framing errors, alarm indication signal) that indicate a failing WAN trunk or line card before they cause a full outage. It parallels the IETF DS1-MIB (RFC 3895 and predecessors) in scope, though implemented as an Ascend-specific object tree. It is deployed on Ascend dial access and DSLAM equipment using T1 circuits as WAN trunks or telephony feeds. Engineers can download the ASCEND-MIBT1NET-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ASCEND-MIBT1NET-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Ascend dial access/DSLAM equipment with T1 trunks
Monitoring Examples
sample_objects was empty for this module, so the following is inferred from its declared purpose rather than confirmed object names. An administrator would poll T1 line entries for errored-second counts and alarm state, treating a line reporting a persistent alarm indication signal as a hardware or wiring fault requiring immediate attention. This is typically monitored alongside call-switching and resource MIBs to correlate trunk-level faults with call failures on the platform.
What Can Be Monitored
- T1 line errored-second counts
- T1 alarm/loss-of-signal status
- line framing/coding configuration

RFC description
Vendor-private Ascend MIB for T1 network interface management; defines objects for T1 link monitoring, statistics, and configuration on Ascend access devices.
Start monitoring Ascend Communications (Lucent) MAX/Pipeline/TNT WAN access equipment (legacy) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
