Description: Manages SHDSL network interface configuration and performance counters on Ascend DSL equipment.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is ASCEND-MIBSHDSLNET-MIB?

ASCEND-MIBSHDSLNET-MIB is an Ascend proprietary MIB managing SHDSL (Single-pair High-speed DSL) network interfaces, covering line configuration and performance counters on Ascend DSL access equipment. It exposes line rate/mode configuration alongside performance statistics such as errored seconds and loss-of-sync events. Its monitoring focus is physical-layer performance/fault detection: line synchronization status and error-second counts reveal copper-loop DSL line health. It parallels concepts found in IETF standard SHDSL/HDSL2-SHDSL line MIBs. It was deployed on Ascend DSLAM/CPE equipment delivering SHDSL business-grade DSL circuits. Engineers can download the ASCEND-MIBSHDSLNET-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ASCEND-MIBSHDSLNET-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Ascend SHDSL DSLAM/CPE equipment

Monitoring Examples

No sample objects were captured for this module. Based on its purpose, it would expose per-line SHDSL sync status and error-second counters, which an operator polls to detect a line losing sync or exceeding error thresholds, indicating copper-loop degradation.

What Can Be Monitored

  • SHDSL line sync status
  • errored seconds/performance counters
  • line rate/mode configuration
