What Is ASCEND-MIBCLTM-MIB?

This proprietary Ascend Communications MIB manages Call Load Throttle Management (CLTM), which controls call admission on Ascend access equipment to prevent overload of dial-up or access resources. It exposes configuration data for call throttling thresholds along with counters/state reflecting current call admission behavior. Its monitoring value is in software resource-health terms — an operator watches whether the throttle is actively rejecting calls and how close current call load is to configured thresholds, which reveals whether the access equipment is being pushed near its capacity limits. It is specific to Ascend's proprietary call-processing architecture rather than a standards-based MIB, though it interacts conceptually with the dial modem pool MIB on the same equipment. It was deployed on legacy Ascend/Lucent dial-up access concentrators handling large volumes of incoming calls. Engineers can download the ASCEND-MIBCLTM-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
