What Is ASCEND-MIBATMSPVC-MIB?
ASCEND-MIBATMSPVC-MIB is a vendor-specific MIB generated by Ascend Communications' mibgen tool for TAOS-based access devices, extending the base ASCEND-MIB configuration tree with ATM Soft PVC support. It defines two profile tables, mibatmSoftPVcAddrProfileTable and mibatmSpvcConfigProfileTable, which model per-shelf/slot/item addressing of soft PVC endpoints and global switches like atmSpvcConfigProfile-FailureTrapEnable and atmSpvcConfigProfile-FailureNotificationInterval that control call-failure trap behavior. It exposes read-write configuration objects such as atmSoftPVcAddrProfile-SpvcAtmAddress rather than traffic counters, so it is used more for provisioning soft PVC endpoints than for statistical polling. It depends on the configuration subtree imported from ASCEND-MIB and on basic SMIv1 types from RFC1155-SMI and RFC-1212, and is deployed on Ascend TAOS routers running ATM soft PVC services. Network engineers working with Ascend MAX/TAOS ATM gear can download the ASCEND-MIBATMSPVC-MIB download file to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ASCEND-MIBATMSPVC-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Ascend TAOS routers (MAX/Pipeline series)
Monitoring Examples
An operator polls atmSpvcConfigProfile-FailureTrapEnable and atmSpvcConfigProfile-FailureNotificationInterval to confirm soft PVC call-failure notifications are armed, then watches for atmSoftPvcCallFailuresTrap events; repeated traps referencing the same atmSoftPVcAddrProfile-SpvcAtmAddress endpoint would indicate a flapping or misconfigured ATM soft PVC.
What Can Be Monitored
- Soft PVC address profile configuration
- ATM soft PVC failure traps
- Failure notification interval settings
- Shelf/slot/logical item addressing
