What Is ASCEND-MIBATMSIG-MIB?

This proprietary Ascend Communications MIB manages ATM signaling protocol configuration and call processing on Ascend ATM equipment, covering the UNI/NNI signaling used to set up and tear down ATM virtual connections. It exposes configuration data for the signaling protocol as well as call-processing/state information for in-progress ATM calls. It supports monitoring of software call-processing health — an operator watches active call counts and signaling state to confirm calls are being set up and released correctly, spotting a signaling failure that would prevent new ATM connections from being established. It works closely with the Ascend base and QoS ATM MIBs, since successful call setup depends on both signaling and negotiated QoS parameters, per ATM Forum UNI signaling standards. It was deployed on legacy Ascend/Lucent ATM switches in carrier networks handling switched virtual circuit (SVC) traffic. Engineers can download the ASCEND-MIBATMSIG-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
