Description: MIB for managing MPEG transport streams, program mappings, and video processing on the ARRIS D5 Universal Edge QAM CMTS platform
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is ARRIS-D5-VIDEO-MIB?
ARRIS-D5-VIDEO-MIB is a vendor-specific MIB for the ARRIS D5 Universal Edge QAM/CMTS platform, managing the MPEG transport-stream and video-processing software that maps and delivers digital video programs over a cable plant. It covers configuration and status of MPEG transport streams, program mappings, and video-processing output on the D5 chassis, which delivers both digital video and DOCSIS data services. For monitoring, it is primarily concerned with software/service status of the video-processing subsystem - the health of program mappings and transport-stream delivery that would reveal a channel dropping out or a mis-mapped video stream - complementing companion ARRIS D5 MIBs that cover general chassis hardware status. It builds on general MPEG/DVB transport-stream concepts and complements the broader ARRIS D5 CMTS/DOCSIS MIB suite covering RF and cable-modem-facing functions. It is deployed at cable operator headends on ARRIS D5 CMTS/Edge QAM chassis handling combined data and video services. In practice, ARRIS-D5-VIDEO-MIB SNMP monitoring centers on confirming that video services remain correctly mapped and streaming rather than on raw hardware counters.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ARRIS-D5-VIDEO-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Monitoring Examples
No specific sample_objects were provided for this module, so exact table/object names can't be cited; based on its stated purpose, an operator would typically poll program-mapping and transport-stream status to confirm a given video program is correctly mapped to its output QAM channel, with anomalies indicating a dropped or misconfigured video service, though this can't be confirmed without concrete object names.

This table has a higher precedence than the d5VideoUdpPortPnTable. If the IP Address associated with an incoming TS matches a configured entry in this table then the associated mapping will apply, otherwise the default mapping from d5vUdpPortPnTable will apply and an dynamic entry will be created in this table. Active entries contain a reference to either a specific QAM or a specific channel-container. When a stream is treated as a virtual-program, the d5vIpActiveChanContName field is set to indicate which channel-container this stream is being mapped to. For any individual active entry in this table, either d5vIpActiveQamIfIndex or d5vIpActiveChanContName is set - not both. | |

| NUM d5vIpConfQamIfIndex | 1.3.6.1.4.1.4115.1.8.1.1.1.3.1.7 | InterfaceIndexOrZero | read-create | The ifIndex of the QAM channel that this IP transport stream is configured to be mapped to. A value of 0 indicates that no mapping is configured. |
| T/F d5vIpConfRedundantMulticast | 1.3.6.1.4.1.4115.1.8.1.1.1.3.1.18 | TruthValue | read-create | This can be used to configure a video stream for redundancy May be set to TRUE only if the d5vIpSrcIndex is set to 0 and the d5vIpDestIndex is set to a valid multicast address and the d5vIpUdpIndex is set to a non-zero value. When this value is set to TRUE, the D5 WAN card doesn't distinguish between packets with different srcIp values, where the d5vIpUdpIndex and d5vIpDestIndex match this rule. |
| IP d5vIpDestIndex | 1.3.6.1.4.1.4115.1.8.1.1.1.3.1.3 | IpAddress | read-create | The DEST IP address of the TS to be mapped to the specified QAM Channel and Program Number.(A value of 0 in a rule means that the dest-IP can be ANY value for pattern-matching) |

| T/F d5vQamOverSubscriptionRecoveryEnabled | 1.3.6.1.4.1.4115.1.8.1.1.1.2.1.42 | TruthValue | read-write | If this is set to TRUE, then the D5 will attempt to recover automatically from a QAM-overscribed condition by shutting down active programs selectively. It selects which programs to shut down by order of most recently activated, checks the new bitrates, then continues to shutdown more programs as neccessary untill the total bandwidth fits within the QAM available bandwidth. |

| T/F d5vQamPreEncDetect | 1.3.6.1.4.1.4115.1.8.1.1.1.2.1.45 | TruthValue | read-write | If this is set to TRUE, then the D5 will detect Motorola pre-encrypted streams, and will avoid re-encrypting the traffic when forwarding it downstream. If set to TRUE, the d5vControlFilterCaDesc setting is ignored for any pre-encrypted streams that match this rule, because the stream could not otherwise be decrypted. |
