Description: Acme Packet SBC USB system management for removable storage and diagnostic media.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is APUSBCSYS-MIB?
APUSBCSYS-MIB is a proprietary Acme Packet SBC module exposing low-level system hardware resource metrics for the device's CPU and memory subsystems. It reports overall and per-CPU utilization, CPU core count and clock speed, total memory size in both MB and GB, and separate application versus kernel memory utilization figures. This is a direct hardware/software resource monitoring module: it lets operators track CPU load and memory pressure on the SBC in real time via objects like apUsbcSysCpuUtilAll and apUsbcSysAppMemUtil/apUsbcSysKernelMemUtil, which is critical for an appliance handling real-time call signaling and media. It is a self-contained proprietary MIB specific to Acme Packet's system resource model, without dependency on standard HOST-RESOURCES-MIB conventions. It is deployed on Acme Packet SBCs to provide capacity-planning and performance-troubleshooting visibility into CPU and memory headroom. Engineers can download the APUSBCSYS-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in APUSBCSYS-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Acme Packet Session Border Controller (SBC)
Monitoring Examples
An operator would poll apUsbcSysCpuUtilAll for overall CPU load and apUsbcSysCpuTable (indexed by apUsbcSysCpuNum) for per-core utilization breakdown, alongside apUsbcSysCpuCount and apUsbcSysCpuSpeedMHz for hardware capacity context. Memory pressure is tracked via apUsbcSysMemSzMB/apUsbcSysMemSzGB total capacity against apUsbcSysAppMemUtil and apUsbcSysKernelMemUtil consumption. A sustained spike in apUsbcSysCpuUtilAll combined with high apUsbcSysAppMemUtil would indicate the SBC is approaching a resource ceiling that could degrade call processing.
What Can Be Monitored
- overall and per-core CPU utilization
- CPU core count and clock speed
- total memory size
- application memory utilization
- kernel memory utilization
