What Is APTIS-REG-MIB?

APTIS-REG-MIB is the registration subtree of Nortel Networks' Aptis Enterprise MIB, defining the OID structure and product identification for Nortel's Aptis DSL access concentrator platform. As a registration-only module, it does not expose runtime managed objects such as port status, performance counters, or environmental sensors directly. Its purpose is to establish the OID namespace and product identifiers under which the actual Aptis DSL concentrator status and configuration MIBs are organized. There is therefore no direct hardware or software status monitoring performed through this module itself, though it enables identification of specific Aptis hardware variants to management systems. It is a dependency root for companion Aptis MIBs that define DSL line status, chassis, and card-level objects. It was typically deployed by telecom carriers operating Nortel Aptis DSL concentrators for broadband access aggregation. The APTIS-REG-MIB MIB file itself contains only OID and product-identifier declarations, with the actual DSL line and chassis status objects defined in companion Aptis modules.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in APTIS-REG-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Nortel Networks Aptis DSL access concentrator

Monitoring Examples

No sample objects were provided for this registration-only module; it defines OID branches for identifying Aptis product variants rather than any pollable data. An administrator would instead monitor DSL line status, card health, or chassis alarms through the separate Aptis data-bearing MIBs registered under this OID tree, not through APTIS-REG-MIB itself.
