Description: Alcatel Next-Gen OAW wireless LAN base MIB defining root OIDs and common objects for OAW access point management.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is ALCATEL-NGOAW-BASE-MIB?
ALCATEL-NGOAW-BASE-MIB is a proprietary Alcatel-Lucent enterprise MIB that provides base OID definitions and shared conventions for the OAW (OmniAccess Wireless) family of wireless LAN access-point and controller products. Rather than exposing operational data itself, it establishes the root object-identifier tree and common textual conventions that other Alcatel-Lucent OAW MIB modules import and build upon. As a foundational registration module it has no runtime hardware or software status objects of its own -- no uptime, temperature, CPU, or fault counters -- since that data is defined in the dependent OAW MIBs that reference this base. It is explicitly a prerequisite dependency for the rest of the ALCATEL-NGOAW-* MIB suite. It is deployed alongside Alcatel-Lucent OmniAccess wireless LAN controllers and access points as an infrastructure module rather than something polled directly. Engineers can download the ALCATEL-NGOAW-BASE-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ALCATEL-NGOAW-BASE-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Alcatel-Lucent OmniAccess WLAN (OAW) access point
- Alcatel-Lucent OmniAccess WLAN controller
Monitoring Examples
No sample objects were provided for this module and its description confirms it is a base/root-OID definitions module with no data-bearing objects of its own, so there is no concrete polling scenario to describe. In practice, an NMS would never query this MIB directly; instead it would poll the dependent OAW MIB modules that import object identifiers from this base tree.
